Loudoun Youth Leadership Program (LYLP)
This isn’t a summer camp, it’s a week-long leadership experience that gives you the chance to grow, explore, and step up. The Loudoun Youth Leadership Program (LYLP) is open to all rising juniors and seniors in Loudoun County. Over the course of a week, you’ll build real-world leadership and communication skills, work in teams, and meet some of the region’s top business, government, and community leaders. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how things really work in your community, explore possible careers, and learn how to speak up, take initiative, and make decisions for yourself. It’s about discovering your voice and learning how to use it. Best part? You’ll meet other motivated students from across Loudoun County, build confidence, and leave with new skills you’ll use for life. Gain valuable career insights through the LYLP experience. Become empowered to make positive changes in your future, while meeting other talented high school students from across Loudoun County.
Registration is open until March 14, 2025. Acceptance notices will be emailed out the week of April 7, 2025 (or before)

How the Program Works

- Tuition: $495 per student
- Two summer sessions available: choose the week that works best for you
- The application portal opens in March 2026
- Scholarships available for students who qualify

When I participated in last year’s Loudoun Youth Leadership Program, I was able to expand my knowledge of leadership skills and qualities by connecting and collaborating with peers by participating in team building exercises. I was also able to learn about the application of leadership skills in different career fields by interacting with local leaders in business, community service, and politics. This opportunity helped me discover new opportunities to merge my career interests with leadership skills learned from this program.
