Loudoun Youth’s Rock the Runway is an annual teen fashion event and fundraiser for Loudoun Youth Inc.  Youth in middle school and high school have the opportunity to participate in the show as models, musicians and behind the scenes assistants. Through the event, youth build self-confidence and self-esteem.

Loudoun Youth’s Rock the Runway engaged over 50 youth models and an additional 50 youth as volunteers in both 2010 and 2011. All youth are encouraged to apply and participate. The only requirements are that models attend a casting call prior to the event and attend the rehearsal typically held the night before the event.

Models have the opportunity to participate in at least one fashion show segment where they were outfitted by a local retail stores or boutiques. In addition, they can participate in a segment titled “Express Yourself” where the youth select their own outfit demonstrating their unique personality and flare.

The event also include local teen musicians who perform in between fashion segments and local vendors selling youth-centric fashions and accessories.

In both 2010 and 2011, Loudoun Youth raised over $10,000 through this event. Money is raised through corporate sponsorships and ticket sales.  Both years had an estimated 350 people in attendance.
