For Children's Sake $15,000
For Children's Sake was this year's charitable partner in the Loudoun Youth Invitational golf tournament held at Creighton Farms. The organization is a child placing agency providing therapeutic/treatment foster care and adoption services to children ages birth to 21 years old. Their mission is to find permanent homes for children through foster care, independent living arrangements or assistance with the adoption of children who may become eligible for adoption while in the agency's care.
Instilling Responsible Ideals through Sisterhood $5,000
The mission of this Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services Teen Services program is to empower adolescent females to develop a positive self image and a safe and healthy lifestyle. This is accomplished through a year long after school program that meets once a week at the following high schools: Dominion, Broad Run, Potomac Falls and Park View.
Loudoun Cares Claude Moore Community Builders $5,000
The purpose of this program is to pair local high school students seeking meaningful and fun volunteer opportunities with local nonprofits seeking reliable and dedicated teen volunteers. The program includes up to 24 youth per year. Youth receive leaership develoment and orientation and training for volunteerism while providing meanigful and well organized volunteer opportunities to Loudoun's youth. Participants must complete 100 hours of service per year adding up to 2,400 hours of service generated by the program.
Loudoun South Little League $5,000
Loudoun South Little League offers baseball programs from T-ball through Majors for boys and girls. Support wasprovided to help this relatively new organization continue to provide services to youth in the southern part of the county.
Piedmont Arts Foundation $5, 000
The mission of the Piedmont Arts Foundation is to serve the performing arts in Loudoun County secondary schools, focusing primarily on theater arts and drama department supplemental funding. In July 2009, Piearts hosted its first ever Summer Stage project, a production of Gypsy featuring 11 cast members and 3 tech crew members who were Loudoun County high school students. In July2010, the group successfully completed their Second Summer Stage Production featuring the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

4th Annual Youth Fest $20,000
Support provided for the 4th year of Youth Fest, an event hosted every June in partnership with the Loudoun Youth Initiative and the Youth Advisory Council. This event brings youth together for a day of live music, fun and community involvement. The event includes: live music by local youth bands; an event headliner, dance performances, interactive exhibits; and, education on non-profit community agencies including after-school programs and drug/alcohol prevention programs. This donation was made possible with the generous assistance of: Dominion Hospital/HCA Virginia Health System; Miller and Smith at One Loudoun; Dulles Town Center; Wegmans Food Markets; Leesburg Toyota/Scion; Johnson Events & Promotions; Belmont Country Club; Leesburg Costco Wholesale; Manhattan Pizza; and Nytova, LLC.
Special Forces Unlimited $10,000
The mission of Special Forces Unlimited is to utilize the wonders of technology, athletics, the arts, business and entertainment as vehicles to promote education and post-secondary educational opportunities. Through the SWEAT Program (Scholastic Workshop for Excellence and Athletic Training), local youth receive mentoring, internships, goal setting guidance, nutrition and wellness information, and tutoring for SAT/ACT testing.
Piedmont Arts Foundation $7,500
The mission of the Piedmont Arts Foundation is to serve the performing arts in Loudoun County secondary schools, focusing primarily on theater arts and drama department supplemental funding. In July 2009, Piearts hosted its first ever Summer Stage project, a production of Gypsy featuring 11 cast members and 3 tech crew members who were Loudoun County high school students. Approximately 500 people attended one of the five live performances. Their goal is to make the Summer Stage an annual event.

Virginia Regional Transit $5,000
Through a partnership with Loudoun Youth, Virginia Regional Transit (VRT) provides discounted transportation for youth organizations and a "Loudoun Youth" designated bus. This year Loudoun Youth gave back to VRT, and provided$5,000 to the youth transportation fund which allows the discounted services to be available.
Reality Store $2,500.00
The Loudoun Volunteer Financial Council, working in collaboration with Virginia Cooperative Extension, provides the Reality Store Program. Reality Store is a role playing simulation designed for teens to improve financial literacy. The goal is to help students become aware of their need for basic skills in financial planning, decision making, goal setting and career planning. Since 2002, a total of 5,836 high school seniors have participated in the program.

Alternatives to Violence $4,000
The Alternatives to Violence Project at the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center is a conflict resolution program founded in 1975. It operates on the belief that each person has the power for positive and successful actions to resolve conflicts they experience. The goals of the program are: to develop respect for self and others (empathy); develop critical social skills (communication, trust); develop alternative approaches to conflict resolution by providing examples and positive reinforcement; and create the desire for a more positive 'community' with the institution.

Piedmont Arts Foundation $10,000
The mission of the Piedmont Arts Foundation is to serve the performing arts in Loudoun County secondary schools, focusing primarily on theater arts and drama department supplemental funding. Through the PieArts Palooza, and the in-development PieArts Summer Stage, the Piedmont Arts Foundation offers live theater to the residents of Loudoun with a cast and crew of local students. Students make up the governing board of the Foundation which offers them opportunities to learn about business, commitment and the responsibility of handling donated funds.
Stone Bridge High School Ethics & Leadership Day $1,000
The purpose of Ethics Day is to provide students with the opportunity to make difficult decisions and consider the impact those decisions have on society. The intent is to demonstrate the importance of having a strong value system and to explore how those values are developed. Students are encouraged to discuss their views with their peers and to seek consensus within their groups. The entire senior class participates along with community leaders who volunteer to work with the students on this day of learning and debate.
Harper Park Middle School Odyssey of the Mind $500
Harper Park Middle School Odyssey of the Mind 6th graders competed in the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals May 31- June 4, 2008.
Boys & Girls Club of Loudoun $20,000
Made possible through a donation from Broadlands Regional Medical Center/HCA, this grant went to support the first year after school program at Stone Hill Middle School.
Dulles South Youth Sports $30,000
Dulles South Youth Sports was this year's charitable partner in the Loudoun Youth Invitational golf tournament held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club at Creighton Farms. This sports organization, now in its second year, serves young people from southeastern Loudoun County, offering football, lacrosse and cheerleading programs. Dulles South Youth Sports continues to expand to meet the needs of the children of this previously under-served area of Loudoun County.
Loudoun Youth Initiative 3rd Annual Youth Fest $20,000
Support provided for the 3rd year of Youth Fest, an event designed by teens to provide opportunity for their peers to engage with the community, provide performance space for local youth talent and celebrate being a youth in Loudoun County. This donation was made possible with the generous assistance of: Miller and Smith at One Loudoun; Inova Loudoun Hospital; Wegmans Food Markets; Broadlands Regional Medical Center/HCA; Johnson Events & Promotions; Belmont Country Club; and the Loudoun Foundation.

Funding to run a summer camp for up and coming 6th graders in the Sterling and Ashburn areas. These camps are used to foster knowledge in gang and violence resistance and team building by using interactive activities, field trips and introducing the GREAT (Gang Resistance Education and Training) program. Run by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s office.
Project Discovery
$2,000
Project Discovery is a college access preparatory program and drop out prevention program. The program serves economically disadvantaged students who are potentially first generation college students. Loudoun County Parks and Recreation Youth Services division has partnered with Dominion High School in Sterling, Virginia to deliver this program. Topics covered in the program include studying skills, test taking skills, decision making and goal setting.
