LOUDOUN YOUTH SET TO TEE IT UP IN A MONTH

May 18th event at Creighton Farms coming together

Leesburg, VA, Tuesday, April 13, 2009 – In their ongoing efforts to serve the youth of Loudoun County to the fullest extent possible, Loudoun Youth (LY) is preparing for its 2nd Annual Golf Tournament to be held once more at the area’s premier golf facility Creighton Farms.  This critical fundraiser for Loudoun Youth has set an aggressive goal of raising over $200,000 to serve local programs.

“As Loudoun County’s youth continue to enthusiastically respond to the programs offered, Loudoun Youth needs to expand our ability to serve our future leaders,” said Carol Kost, LY’s President.  “This golf event was a smashing success for us in 2008 and we are intently focused on making this year’s event even more successful.  The money we raise through this event is the life-line of funding for youth activities ranging from sports to leadership development to the arts in Loudoun County.”

Through this endeavor, Loudoun Youth has served as the County’s one-stop outlet for major giving; having distributed over $93,000 last year through the golf event.  Thus far Loudoun Youth is more than half way to their goal in serving Loudoun’s youth and are seeking Loudoun’s corporations to step forward and contribute to this great cause.

“Response from the philanthropic community has been phenomenal these past two years and we are now intently focused on major corporations stepping forward as they have in the past to be a part of this great event,” concluded Kost.  “This isn’t about contributing a large sum of money for a great day of golf at a world-class facility, even though that is fabulous, but about showing your corporation’s commitment to the community and to the future leaders of our world.
